Out on the A3 in Surrey and Hampshire, we've had a team working on Ash dieback tree removal.
Most of the identified trees had the potential to fall on the carriageway, so preventative measures were taken to ensure that didn’t happen.
Due to the proximity of the trees to each other, removing the infected ones was essential to try and limit the further spread of the disease. The initial survey showed that the dieback was advanced on these trees, so we needed to use mechanised arb to fell them safely.
They would not have held up to a climber felling them manually.
