Steph Berwick - Head of Sustainability, Chevron Group

Following a degree in Modern Languages and Cultures at Durham University, Steph joined the Chevron Group in 2020 as an ESG Analyst. In 2022 Steph started her Masters in Sustainability alongside her full-time job. Steph’s focus is on driving impactful sustainability initiatives, including Science-Based Targets, carbon management, Social Value, and comprehensive sustainability reporting. She is dedicated to creating a more sustainable future by integrating sustainability into business operations.

Lily Clarke - Ecologist, Chevron Green Services

After graduating from the University of South Wales, with a first-class degree in International Wildlife Biology, Lily joined our Chevron Green Services Consultancy division as one of our Ecologists. Much of her work is focused on project management and undertaking Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, protected species surveys, Preliminary Ecological Assessments and providing Ecological Clerk of Works supervision. Her interest in the human-wildlife conflict / coexistence, and the impacts on climate change and sustainability. She is a Qualifying member of CIEEM.

Cecilia Bevik-Cronqvist - Group Head of Sustainability, Ramudden Global

Cecilia Bevik-Cronqvist is an accomplished sustainability professional with extensive experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies across various organizations. Currently, she serves as the Group Head of Sustainability at Ramudden Global, where she is responsible for developing and driving the sustainability agenda across 12 markets, developing governance structures, setting goals, and initiating pilot projects with the goal to be the sustainability frontrunner. Prior to this, she was the Head of Sustainable Investing at Nordic Credit Partners, where she developed and implemented sustainable investing strategies, conducted ESG due diligence, and reported to investors and boards. Cecilia has also held significant roles at Institutional Shareholder Services - ESG, where she led a team within business intelligence supporting large institutional investors , and at EY, where she supported a wide variety of businesses on their strategic sustainability agenda. She holds a master's degree in Human Rights, with additional studies in anthropology and Mandarin.

Melissa Zanocco OBE - Co-Chair Digital Twin Hub Community Council

Melissa Zanocco OBE, Capital Projects & Infrastructure at Accenture, is one of the instigators of Our Vision for the Built Environment and Our Shared Understanding: a circular economy in the built environment, and is committed to transforming the built environment sector to produce better outcomes for people and nature. She is Co-Chair of the Digital Twin Hub Community Council as well as a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering / NEPC Materials Working Group, Green Construction Board Circular Economy Group, Construction Leadership Council Information Management Mandate Task Group and Bridge AI Construction Expert Working Group. She is also a member of the UN Women UK community, including as part of the delegation to the Commission on the Status of Women 2022-24.

Steve Elderkin - Director of Environmental Sustainability, National Highways

Steve joined National Highways in 2015 after a decade working in the central civil service where he was a member of the Government Economic Service. He has focussed on environmental policy and analysis, including leading the Government’s analysis for the Climate Change Act and setting the first 4 carbon budgets. At National Highways he has held the post of Chief Analyst, Project Director for a Tier 1 construction project and for the last 2 years has been Director of Environmental Sustainability. National Highways published their environmental sustainability strategy in May 2023, setting out their intention to be positive for nature, tackle local environmental pollution for the benefit of communities, and to make the transition to net zero highways by 2050.

Dougal Driver FICFor CEnv - CEO – Grown in Britain

Dougal is a Chartered Forester, Professional Environmentalist and Chief Executive of Grown in Britain. He is also Chair of Judges for the Environmental Professional of the Year Awards and The Chair of The Society for the Environment. His work at Grown in Britain is focussed on raising and setting the standards for UK trees, woods and forests. Whilst supporting and delivering research to improve local supply chains for forest products.

Alice Burgess – Ecologist & Biodiversity Net Gain Lead, Chevron Green Services

Alice’s love of animals led her to an Animal Management college course before graduating from University of Greenwich with a first in Animal Management and Agriculture. After jobs in Livestock, Agriculture and Ecology, Alice joined Chevron Green Services as an Ecologist in February 2024. Following the introduction of the Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) legislation, Alice is also our BNG Lead, supporting clients and the environment team through the implementation of the requirements.

Paul Aldridge - Group Sustainability Director, WJ

Paul has extensive experience in the highways industry having joined as an operative in 1982, preceding a successful career in operations as a senior manager, then Managing Director for WJ South before moving into Sustainability. He has a passion for responsible business and the transformation businesses can help create in the Just Transition to Net Zero. Offering innovative environmental solutions, working with nature, improving inclusion, health, safety and wellbeing in the industry, tackling inequality and enhancing Social Value in highways delivery. Appointed WJ Group Sustainability Director April 2018, he is also a member of the RSMA Executive Committee, Chair NHSS 7 Advisory Committee, National Highways Supplier Diversity Forum member, Fairness, Inclusion and Respect in Construction National Steering Committee member, a member of Business In The Community’s (BITC) West Midlands Management Board and Critical Friends group, FIHE, PIEMA.

Marian Garfield - Sustainability Director, Heidelberg Materials

Marian is a member of the Chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and has an MSc in environmental management. She has over 10 years’ senior management experience in mineral extractives as well as significant experience in developing and delivering major projects within Network Rail. In 2016 Marian was promoted to Heidelberg Materials UK’s senior executive team where she provides strategic advice in relation to sustainability, corporate governance and the leadership required to ensure the business achieves its 2030 sustainability commitments. In addition to advocating the implementation Heidelberg Materials UK’s health and wellness strategy, she is also helping to drive its path towards cement carbon neutrality, fuel switching, hydrogen use and carbon capture and storage (CCS).

Pierre Talpe – Owner & Director, Rainbow Professional

Following a degree in Business Engineering at KU Leuven and a master’s in finance at HEC Paris, Pierre joined McKinsey & Company as a consultant in 2015. He worked as a strategy consultant in various industries with a focus on sustainability. In 2019, Pierre and his brother Alex acquired Rainbow Professional, a leading manufacturer of tree care and landscaping products using 100% recycled materials. Together, they’ve been accelerating R&D, product development and driving the transition towards plant based and biodegradable materials, which now comprises a third of the business’ activities.   The mission of Rainbow is to help customers shape the environment in the most sustainable way – be that through developing products made from 100% recycled materials or by going for biodegradable alternatives.
