The Chevron Group Achieves PAS 2080 Accreditation
Published on 08 Oct 2024

In a significant milestone for the infrastructure sector, the Chevron Group (Chevron TM, Chevron Green Services, Roocroft, and Metor) has successfully attained accreditation to PAS 2080: 2023 Carbon Management in Infrastructure. This achievement underscores the group's commitment to sustainable practices and carbon reduction in their operations.

During a rigorous four-day audit, Chevron demonstrated consistent capability in proposing carbon reduction solutions across various project areas, including traffic management, green services, and barrier services. The accreditation process highlighted the group's innovative approach to sustainability in infrastructure management.

BSI auditor Mahivi Vazquez Tarducci remarked - “Traffic management is probably not the first thing that comes to mind when we talk about decarbonising the infrastructure sector. That is why I was pleasantly surprised to discover a huge potential for carbon reduction behind many of the initiatives implemented by Chevron. I also commend Chevron in their collaborative approach, by choosing to widely share their knowledge and in-house developed innovation with clients and competitors alike, prioritising safety and decarbonisation across the whole industry over commercial competitive advantage. Chevron's strategy focused on maximum efficiency and the creative implementation of digital solutions places it at the forefront of decarbonising traffic management.”

PAS 2080, a standard for managing carbon in building and infrastructure sectors, provides a comprehensive framework for reducing carbon emissions and costs throughout the entire value chain. It encompasses intelligent design, construction, and use practices. Chevron's strategy, focused on maximum efficiency and creative implementation of digital solutions, positions the group at the forefront of decarbonizing traffic management.

This accreditation not only validates the Chevron Group’s efforts in sustainable infrastructure management but also sets a new benchmark for the industry, demonstrating that significant carbon reductions are achievable even in less obvious sectors like traffic management.

Tim Cockayne quote - ‘“Securing this accreditation reinforces our commitment to delivering infrastructure projects that prioritise carbon reduction. Throughout the rigorous accreditation process, we successfully demonstrated our capability to implement sustainable solutions across our projects, including traffic management and green services. With our validated science-based targets guiding our actions, we’re committed to transforming the way infrastructure projects are approached, helping to drive the shift to a low-carbon economy.”
