Teams in the Midlands remove fallen trees in emergency call outs
Published on 13 Jan 2025

It won't have escaped your notice that the UK has been battered by some extreme weather over the last few months. What with Storm Darragh in early December and the rain, wind, snow and flooding we've had over the past couple of weeks it's been a busy time for our teams.

In the Midlands, we've had over 20 emergency call outs over the past six weeks for trees that have fallen and need removing or made safe. We've had a range of removals, from trees falling from the verge onto the carriageway, to trees blocking pavements, and even trees damaging residential properties.

In several cases, once the fallen trees had been removed, we recommended that additional surveys were needed of the remaining standing trees due to poor root plate conditions. Our years of expertise and rigorous safety approach means that we can safely react when severe weather causes issues. We work quickly to ensure road users can get back on their journey safely.

Well done to all the team working in these unpredictable weather conditions.
