Earlier this month, teams from Chevron Green Services and The Chevron Group came together to support the local community in Eye, Peterborough.
Alongside some local volunteers, our teams spent two days giving the community centre a refresh, painting the community rooms, kitchen and toilets. The space is used by over 200 people every week, from toddler groups, youth clubs and senior coffee mornings and needed a more modern look.
We chose the community centre in Eye because of a request from Donna Nolan, our Business Manager – East. She is involved in running the weekly youth club from the centre and asked for our support. It was great fun for people from across our businesses to work together on this worthwhile initiative.
Our volunteers said that 'spending the day doing something different was really rewarding. Catching up with those we don't normally work with was fun too.'
Thanks to all who took part over the two days, including: Donna Nolan, CGS Business Manager, East; Maria King-Smith, Group Social Value Manager; Kayleigh Ashton, Group Talent Acquisition Manager; Becky Wainewright-Smith, CGS Marketing and Communications Manager and CGS Vegetation Management Operatives, Martin Johansson and Jack Littlechild.
