Mental health is treated with great importance at Chevron Green Services and, where possible, we infuse this in the local community too.
To raise awareness of World Mental Health Day on 10 October, our Commercial Manager Charlie Bryant headed to her local school, St Lawrence School in Lechlade, Gloucestershire, to take part in some daffodil planting. It’s an initiative run by the school PTA which is sponsored by Chevron Green Services and Chevron Traffic Management.
The volunteers work with the classes from Reception through to Year 6 in turn, helping them to plant a daffodil bulb. They also talked through the life cycle of the plant and the importance of plants and pollinators to the environment. The planted bulbs are left at school for the children to look after and monitor, then in spring each child gets to take home a plant.
As well as the educational value, the children all engage in the mindful activity of gardening too. Yesterday was such fun for all involved.
