Over the past few weeks, members from our Chevron Green Consultancy Arboricultural team, Carol Castlo and Leo Stringer, have been working on detailed tree surveys on parts of the M25 and M4.
With approximately 56kms to walk, over 11 junctions, it's taking them around 22 days to complete. They are assessing trees on highways land and trees on third-party land, which are in falling distance of the road.
The M4 has changed a lot recently due to sections becoming SMART motorways, so access to site can be tricky, especially when there are significant environmental barriers in the way too. There is also Oak Processionary Moth on the M4 and surrounding areas, which they note for the client as part of these inspections, offering recommendations so they can carry out appropriate treatment.
We are using the client’s Field Maps software to collect the data, showing any trees that have been recorded previously, so we don’t re-record the trees if works haven’t been carried out yet.
Due to many exciting projects coming up this year, we're delighted to announce that we are recruiting into our Arboriculture Team. Visit our Careers page to find out more.
