When our client asked us to get involved in an initiative in preparation for the Commonwealth Games we jumped at the chance. Over the course of five days, National Highways organised a little pick along an 11-mile stretch of the A5 dual carriageway near Birmingham.
During our morning stint, seven members of staff from Chevron Green Services, Colas and National Highways collected 25 bags of litter. We also logged any significant items we found using the app what3words, for later collection, which included A frames, sand bags and signs.
At Chevron Green Services we are very passionate about the environment and leaving it in a better state than we found it. It was such a joy to work collaboratively with other contractors in Area 9 and to help to give a good impression to those arriving for the Games.
