As we move into the summer months, we have several ash dieback surveys underway.
Following on from our Phase 1 surveys we completed last year, our Arb team is back in the East of England, working on the Phase 2 ash dieback surveys. Our work last year identified areas of ash dieback, so the phase 2 surveys are intended to gather more information on each area.
As part of the surveys, we will provide management guidance on which trees are likely to recover from the disease (and how best to help them do so) and which trees need to be removed. We will also provide replanting advice to ensure the plots fulfil their environmental and landscape functions.
These plots cover a huge area and we’re likely to be out surveying from now until mid-October.
