This week, we’re shining a spotlight on some of the incredible women shaping the future of construction across Chevron Green Services.
With women in positions throughout the company, including Ecologists, Arboriculture Consultants, Commercial Leads, Marketing, Operations, Head Office and Leadership positions, women are breaking barriers, driving innovation, and proving that our industry is for everyone. 🚧✨
We spoke to four of our Ecologists from our Consultancy division who shared their thoughts on the industry, and the advice they’d give to others looking to step into the sector.
“I love that my job is varied and different, no site is the same and I think that helps keep my role interesting and engaging. I also like working outside and having the opportunity to work in the natural environment to benefit both wildlife and people.” Lottie Green
“I think that more opportunities are being made available, but there is more of a push to invite women into the space. I also think that as more women take on these opportunities, it encourages others to do the same.” Lily Clarke
“It seems now that more roles are being filled by women in construction, and I believe this is as a result of a positive attitude shift. For the most part, employers and individuals are ensuring women are given equal opportunities and supported in their role. We should be assessed on our ability to do the job and not what our gender is.” Alice Burgess
“Every site you visit is like a blank canvas, you have all the preparation H&S, risk assessment, site plans and can be completely prepared but you need to be also prepared for changes that happen for example, you could be working as an ECoW and a protected species is found so it changes the dynamic of the job!” Amanda Talbert BSc (Hons) Env Sci
