On the first working day of National Tree Week yesterday, our Consultancy team were carrying out a detailed inspection on this fine beech specimen adjacent to the A43 for our client, National Highways.
The opportunity was taken to use this as a training exercise for two of our team members who are currently completing the Level 4 Diploma in Arboriculture with Tree Life.
Under the watchful eye of Arboricultural Manager Carol Castlo, the Chevron Green Consultancy team used both Picus and Resistograph technology to detect the levels of decay within the main stem due to the presence of a number of fungal brackets at the base.
Initial indication is that the tree is healthy with minimal levels of decay which will place the tree on a two-year inspection cycle meaning surveyors will get to visit this beautiful tree again and again!
